ook called Mary Beth Bolen’s name from the sideline to take the free kick. The freshman steadied her aim and sent a strike over the wall of defenders in front of her. The ball eventually found its mark in the back of the net.

Personal Statement

I’m Mary Beth “MB” Bolen, a hardworking and disciplined defender from Ashland, Kentucky. I earned Team MVP and Best Defender awards 2021-2024. I was named to All Area and All Region Teams 2021-2024 while starting Varsity all 4 years. I also played Center Back for Eastern Elite 06/07 Girls in the Kentucky Premier League, the top competitive league in the state, and was a multi-year member KY's ODP Team and in 2023 traveled to Spain with KY ODP International Team to play against Spanish National Teams. My Eastern Elite Team was State Cup Champions in 2023, 2024, and 2025 going undefeated in KY's Premier League in 2024 and 2025. We also participated as part of the USYS National League Great Lakes Conference in 2023-2025. In 2025 were were Conference Champions going undefeated in our division. 

Off the field, I maintain a 4.0 GPA in accelerated and honors classes despite being diagnosed with severe dyslexia in fifth grade. I’m dedicated to continuous growth as an athlete, student, and teammate, and I’m looking for a program where I can contribute and excel both academically and athletically.
