Personal Statement

My name is Alyssa Pecorella.  I am an extremely hard-working coachable and teachable student-athlete going into my Junior year at Franklin High School in Somerset NJ.  I currently have a 4.3 GPA and am a member of the National  Honor Society at Franklin High School since my sophomore year as well as being a Marian Scholar recipient as a freshman in 2019.   

I show leadership skills both on and off the court not only by training all year round in my craft of basketball, but also by helping my church in my youth group by either donating my time with service projects for the elderly or delivering food for those families in need throughout the year or at holidays.  I also helped organize a gift giving for the United Way in Somerset NJ for the last 3 years  

I have been playing basketball since I was 6 years old both for my church CYO team as well as the North Brunswick Travel Team and also for my AAU Basketball for Team - Team Miller Elite for the past 10 years.  Picking the right college is extremely important to me.  I prefer a school with a strong academic program and of course my dream school would have a basketball program with a strong team culture, self motivated athletes and a dedicated and approachable coaching staff.  

I am a 3 year varsity shooting guard with a strong outside shot and high percentage shooter from the key.  I am an aggressive defender and my forte is having a strong court vision, finding the open man to provide the assist when needed.  I am a team player and take a leadership role on the court to continue to work on my skill set to be a complete triple threat on the court.
