Personal Statement
My name is Lucy Krumwiede and I am a 2025 goalkeeper for the Colorado Rush 06 Girls Academy team. I have been ranked the number 1 recruit for the Rocky Mountain and Southwest region for the 2025 grad year and the number 3 national recruit for goalkeepers for the 2025 grad year by Top Drawer Soccer. I attend Legend High School in Parker, Colorado I attend Legend High School in Parker, Colorado where I have been a starter on Varsity for both my freshman and sophomore year. This season, I received MVP, first team all-league, and academic all-state. My freshman season, in 13 of the 15 games I played, I had shutouts. I helped lead our team to the school's first-ever second round in playoffs in our record-breaking season. I have a 4.1 GPA, received a score of 1330 on my PSAT, and received a 5 on my AP Human Geography exam. I also compete in DECA and FBLA which are marketing and business competitions. I was able to place second at state for Advertising in FBLA and I earned a leadership position on our FBLA officer team. My aspiration in soccer is to play for a strong women's soccer college program. I want a program that honors academics as much as athletic skills. I value programs that keep their players disciplined both on the field and in the classroom. Our club has 11 core values and one of my favorites is accountability. I believe it is important that we all hold each other accountable while also being accountable for yourself, such as putting your hand up after a mistake. I believe that as a goalkeeper, footwork is one of the most important skills to have. I find it important for teams to use their goalkeeper to their advantage because they can see everything and have more options, as everyone is in front of them. With good distribution, goalkeepers can help the team possess the ball and wait for the best chance to attack. Overall, I am looking for a program that cherishes the utilization of a goalkeeper's footwork, provides resources to develop excellent students as well as athletes, and that holds their players accountable. I find all of these things very important as an aspiring student-athlete who yearns to exceed in athletics as well as academics.
