Personal Statement

My goal is to pursue my passion by continuing to playing football collegiately and pursue coaching following my playing career.  I am a multi-sport athlete playing football, basketball and baseball.  As my passion for football has grown and become my main focus I have discontinued basketball but will continue baseball career through high school. I began playing football for the first time as a freshman.  I was able to gain the starting quarterback position on the Junior Varsity squad as a freshman, helping lead the team to a 6-3 record. I was elevated to the Varsity team as emergency QB for the remaining three games. In 10th grade I was again named starting JV quarterback. I spent most of the season playing the first half of the JV games and then suiting up as the backup Varsity quarterback. I gained Varsity experience immediately as a sophomore, filling in for the injured starter after the first series of the first game. I then started the second Varsity game of the season before moving back to the backup role on Varsity and playing partial JV contests, helping the JV team to a 6-4 record while adding a few more series at the Varsity level the rest of the season.  I was named starting quarterback for the Garner Trojans this past season, my junior year. I have steadily grown from a thrower to a true quarterback, student of the game and team leader both on and off the field.
