Personal Statement
Having played football since I was eight, my coaches have always told me that I have good instincts and a high football IQ. I am a quick learner with no drama and no trash talk, and I adapt to adversity in a positive manner. I always keep my head up and play to the best of my ability, no matter the circumstances. I also constantly try to help and motivate my teammates, instructing them on how to get better rather than bringing them down. I am quiet but intense. I am a very unselfish player, working to the best of my ability at any spot on the field where my coaches need for the betterment of the team. I did this last season as a freshman by starting on varsity returning punts and kickoffs, being the starting kicker, and playing receiver, LB, DB, RB, and QB. I sometimes did not like the position, nor did I think I was the best choice for it, but I gave it 100% no matter what I thought I was good at because the coach asked me to. Sometimes I see players more concerned about getting highlights for huddle then doing what is asked of them by their coach. I am not that kind of player. My sophomore season I took a big step forward. On offense, I was the team's second leading rusher and leading receiver. On defense, I moved to CB full time and began to grow more comfortable in that position. I was also the team's leading punt and kick returner. Finally, I was the team's kicker and punter. Since the end of last season, I have attended many camps and have been training hard. I have gained 20 good pounds and have been steadily raising my personal bests in the weight room. I look forward to my move to safety next season. Overall, I am a quiet and extremely coachable player, and I am excited to work with coaches on the college level at any position that I am needed for the success of the team.
