Personal Statement
I have a deep passion for football. My dad is one of my coaches, and he always asks me "Why do you love the game?" "What keeps you coming back to it?" "What drives you to work hard?" Honestly, it's an escape for me that provides me with an outlet for my emotions. My goal is to play football at the collegiate level while obtaining my education in sports medicine. I truly believe I can play at the collegiate level due to my work ethic, drive and determination. My love for the game started when I was five years old, strapping up those pads and lacing up my cleats. Before a game, getting those pre-game butterflies, that's when I feel MOST ALIVE. Another thing I absolutely love about the game is the bonds you make with your football brothers. It's a bond forged in blood, sweat and tears. On the field, in the field house and even in the classroom we always have each other's back and I think that's important. Another thing is the loyalty and the sacrifice. You may not be the guy that makes the big play or the pancake block or the big tackle, but that doesn't matter because you're all doing your part to make the team successful.
I'm a three sport athlete (football, wrestling and baseball) and an A-B student. Everything I do, I give 100%. That includes sports, academics, workouts, and film review. Being the son of a coach, I have really learned to embrace the study and preparation part of the game. Football is as much a mental game as it is physical, and it takes weeks of practice and hours upon hours of studying to be great at it. You're never really perfect, and I think that's what draws me in the most. I want to be the best of the best and won't stop until I am. I even love the tough parts of the game. The losses. The play rep, over and over and over, until you have it perfect. The grind of drills until you're swallowing vomit and the world's spinning. Because even in the midst of all that, we're united and we are growing.
