Personal Statement

My original plan before football was to go into Law Enforcement, which originally to me meant only a police officer, but as ive gathered knowledge it has meant so much more and even has me considering the army. I went into highschool with that set in mind, but as soon as I started playing football my ideas have changed. Ive fallen in love with this game and I want to play at a higher level. I have a huge passion for football and though I may have started later then my teammates, with freshman year being my first time putting on a pair of football pads, Ive learned and grown tremendously. I came out with the goal of just following my brothers footsteps and found myself playing on Varsity. Ive found that my work ethic and humor attracted a lot of attention from coaches. I was the guy that knew when it was time to work and when it was time to play; knowing when to listen and take advice to work on my craft, and knowing how to become likeable by the team and coaching staff. With this, I find myself to be very respected among my teammates and trusted by coaches. Without my coachability, I would never be at the point I am at now. Going from never playing organized football to competing on Varsity as a freshman, I had to soak up as much knowledge in order to keep up with those who have played their entire lives. I would be lying to say that ive never had a bad grade, but I can assure you that I would not be one of the "grade guys". I keep up with my work and have never had grades determine my eligibility to play a sport. You may think it would be a risk to bring in someone so new to football, but recruiting me would be a great decision.
