Personal Statement

To all coaches viewing my profile, my name is Joshua Lock and I am aspiring to attend school to become a United States Air Force Pilot. I currently reside in the North Texas within the DFW Metroplex. I have been involved with organized  athletics since the age of 5 including: flag football, baseball, tackle football, basketball, wrestling, as well as track and field. My favorite being football, I have played the positions of QB, RB, OLB, and DB. The primary goal for myself is to provide excellence every time I step onto the field. Not only do I take athletics seriously, but that I strive to be the best student I can be. As a student athlete, school is always priority, therefore developing relationships with teachers, administrators, and school staff is a must to keep my character accountable.

Putting in the same amount of effort that I give on the field into all of my classes, no matter the difficulty, is key to my being consistent on and off the field. I understand that the game of football is more mental than physical. Pushing my teammates for success is to lead by example in the classroom and on the field for practice and game days. A team that works well together and understands the game is a formula to success no matter how intimidating an opponent may be.
