Personal Statement

My name is Mitchell Hwang, class of ‘23 at Walt Whitman High School. Baseball has become my lifestyle. I started baseball at a young age, and my love for the game has grown throughout my years of playing. I love being on the field, working with my teammates, making the plays, and striking players out. I make it my duty to hype myself and my teammates when we are in tough situations. I also enjoy feedback and critique from coaches as they help make me a better player. I’m the one to stay after practice to get in more work in the cage. If my coach needs a ball pickup, I try to be the first one in the cage. Even off the field, I put lots of time into lifting in the weight room and practicing baseball skills every day so that I can be the best version of myself. I work just as hard in school demonstrated by my 4.0/4.6w in Honor and AP classes.
