Personal Statement

Hello Coach,

My name is Jaylen Killens-McIntyre and I’m a 6’4 guard/forward at Northwood Temple Academy (NTA) in, Fayetteville, NC. We play in one of the toughest conferences in North Carolina so night in and night out I am playing against talented players and I am holding my own against upper classman. Most importantly I possess a 3.5 GPA (something I am extremely proud of). 

In me you will get one of the hardest working players imaginable. I am extremely disciplined and coachable. I am not one of those players who believe they know everything, as I know there is always more to learn and opportunity for growth. I am a two way player who takes great pride in my defense but can also score in bunches.  

A little more about me... I am a starter on my travel ball team, Robeson United (one of the best programs in NC) and have represented my city (Lumberton, NC) the last 4 years at the Powerade State Games of NC, winning the state title in 2019 after finishing as runner up in 2018. I led my team to the SWAC state title this past Summer as well.  I know that my work ethic and talent will be a great match for your program.

I will be competing all winter long at NTA and this Spring/Summer on the AAU travel ball circuit.  I would really appreciate it if you could come see me compete in person. If you cannot come see me in person, I would love to come visit campus to meet you and get a workout in with  you, so you can see what I can do. 

If you will be hosting Elite Camps, I would be love to have the opportunity to attend and show you in person what I am capable of.
