Personal Statement

Being humble is one of my favorite attributes that I acquire on and off the court. I’ve come to realize that it is not about the perfect set that I put up, or the third ace I served in a row, but it is really about the team as a whole, and the success and goals that we reach together. It’s not always about the stats or the rankings, but I am positive that it is always about the journey. 

Positivity, likewise, is a trait that I possess each time that I step on the court. Not only through my attitude, but through my voice. I constantly bring my teammates up, and live by the motto “you’ll get the next one!” I believe there is only one way that a team cannot win, and that is if they fail to believe in themselves and the team. Negativity will bring an individual or team nowhere, which is why I use my mental toughness to better myself and my team.

I would love to further my education and athletics at the collegiate level for many reasons. School has always been important to me, and I appreciate everything that I have learned so far, and all that I will learn in my future. I consistently work hard in and put effort into my classes, and earning high grades is certainly a great feeling. Volleyball has been a passion of mine since I was 10, attending clinics and camps. Ever since I got into it, I have always dreamed of getting better and better so that I can advance my skills and play at a higher level. As far as my experience, I played four years of CYO,  two years of middle school, 3 years at the club level with Rockland Pride, and another this year, with Pinnacle Volleyball Academy. Additionally, I have been a starter since my freshmen year on the Park Ridge High School Varsity team. Therefore, I always have aspired to play as much as possible, and have always sought opportunities to do so. I look forward to seeing what my future holds and am very excited for this recruiting journey.
