Personal Statement

My name is Anna Cowan and I started playing field hockey when I was nine in northern Virginia. I went to a multi-sport camp and first tried field hockey and I knew that it was my sport.  I have been playing with club team Southeast Storm since 2016. When it came time for high school I researched schools with the best field hockey programs and strong academics. I now attend The Hill School in Pottstown, PA. Similar to my teammates at Hill, I aspire to go to a strong college for both field hockey and academics. I'm a hard worker who strives to be the best player that I can be. I improve and practice to reach my full potential. I love to go out on weekends and in my free time to practice my skills and try new things. I'm competitive but respectful. From being captain of my club team I am encouraging my teammates to be the best that they can be, I also try to motivate and inspire others around me. I'm coachable, and when a coach tells me something to work on I listen and focus on improving. It's my ambition to play collegiate field hockey.
