Personal Statement
My name is Michael Brown, I am a 2023 (born 2005) prospect. I play at and attend grade 12 at Edge Prep school, play for Genesis (on both their top club team and their 16U Marquee Hoops team) and played this summer on the U17 provincial team in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
I stand at 6’4”, 200 pounds and have been working on my craft as a combo guard, showing my scoring talents at 3 levels on the court: behind the arc, pull ups and finishes. I strive to watch the court, provide opportunities for my teammates and work very hard on defence. I have a strong IQ and can play multiple positions.
I have a GPA of 4.0 and I take pride in my academics, achieving excellence in all of my classes.
My greatest strengths on the court are my: leadership and communication, driving ability, versatility and hustle.
I am proficient at making reads and knowing the right play that is beneficial to the situation. I know where my teammates are on the floor and can perform with them at a high level.
I am in the gym every day working and improving my game. I aspire to play for a post-secondary team where I am a strong fit, can grow and can help my team grow. I also aspire to go to a university with strong academics.
I am determined, passionate and love the game!
