Personal Statement

I was never into sports as a kid growing up. Of course I was fast and my athleticism was higher than other kids around my age, but I never played for any teams. By the time I came into my 8th grade year I decided to try out for our school's teams. I played football, basketball, and track. This was when I fell in love with football.

When my first year of varsity came around, I became the starting safety for my team. I worked hard to keep my starting spot and asked coaches any questions I could about defense. After the season I knew I needed to push myself harder than anyone around me. I spent many hours watching film, doing drills, and working out. If I wasn't doing those I was keeping tack of my grades and doing homework. I believe my work ethic and determination makes me a great candidate for your team. Not only that but I take my education seriously and want to pursue a field in engineering.
