Personal Statement
Hello,
My name is Graciela (Gracie) Lopez and I am a 2021 midfielder/forward from Broomfield Colorado. I am a strong player on the ball, I read the field well, and am a thoughtful leader both on and off the field. I am determined to play soccer at the next level.
I am currently a sophmore at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne,WY. I have had great success with my team coming off of a 2022 region IX title win, a 2022 west plains district win and a national appearance at the 2022 NJCAA national tournament. We finished with a national rank of 9.
I played club soccer for the Westminster Soccer Club in Westminster, Colorado. I was on the top team, Orange 03G, and we competed in the Colorado Champions League-Premier 2 level. I have played under an “A” license coach over the last four years (who is happy to provide a reference) and we have won two Presidents Cup state championships (2017, 2018), were a Presidents Cup Far West Regional quarter-finalist (2017) and made it to the Far West Regional finals the following year (2018). My team was invited to play in the Colorado State cup last year (2019).
I began high school at Mountain Range High School in Thornton, Colorado, a 5A school in the Colorado Front Range League where I was a starting varsity forward. I began playing midfield after my freshman year of high school, and have played attacking midfield since. I am able to play both positions. I transferred to Broomfield High School, another 5A program in the Front Range League my sophomore year, where I scored 17 goals (over half of the teams' goals for the season) and played over 80 minutes per game. I maintained a 3.7 GPA.
I strive to walk my talk. I love to play, sincerely want to be the best I can, and try to be an example in my play and practice. I normally get to practice first and leave last, organize runs before practice, and organize informal practices (especially when official practice was shut down during COVID). During off seasons I’ve put together teams to play in indoor, Futsal and summer leagues. I like to keep the focus on team; loyalty, commitment, accountability, and a winning mentality- not individual personalities. Without trying to sound all high and mighty, I try to be a kind and considerate teammate and the kind of player I want to play with.
I am determined to play at the next level, and will do whatever it takes to reach my goal. I understand the importance of a good fit, and am actively searching for that now. I invite you to review my profile and watch my film (a skills video is in the works) and I welcome any feedback you’d like to offer. I can be reached at 720-737-1935 or graciela.lopez@recruitinginfo.org.
Thank you so much!
