NXTPRO Basketball (PRO16, NXT) will operate the PRO16 and NXT Leagues. New Balance will be the exclusive apparel provider for all programs. BSN is the third prong to this exceptional contract as they will service the teams throughout the year, providing clubs with the best New Balance gear with first-class service. NXTPRO will continue to operate public-facing as a media arm in the grassroots and high school basketball scene, with content daily on NXTPROHoops.com. The league seeks to innovate the grassroots elite youth basketball scene. The PRO16 represents programs with top-tier talent ranked nationally. The NXT will be a highly-competitive section with great opportunities to move up throughout the season. The unique setup of the league begins with the format of the sessions. Each week there will be an event, but it is set up for travel purposes to give PRO16 and NXT programs the power to pick the weekends they play during the non-live landscape. PRO16 and NXT programs will compete in a minimum of four spring events and five regular-season events. A unique part of the league is the design around the NB Finals in Houston, TX, July 6-9. The PRO16 programs will be seeded 1-16 based on their results in the spring. The top 16 from the NXT will also join the NB Finals, making a bracket of 32. The opening round of the NB Finals bracket play will feature the PRO16 programs playing the NXT programs. This is the only format of its kind that truly opens up the opportunity for all programs to compete for the league championship. But wait, the unique features of the league continue after Houston, as the NXT programs will battle the rest of July out to earn a spot in the NXT Relegation Championship. The NXT name comes from the finals, as only 48 teams will make the bracket for 17U,16U, and 15U. Unlike other leagues where sponsored contracts are up for debate regarding how you earn them, the NXT will openly outline how teams are regulated up to the PRO16. The champion at 15U and 16U will earn sponsorship and elevate to the PRO16 in that age for the following grassroots season. The 17U champion team will also receive sponsorship for their program for next season. This format rewards winning and takes politics from who is elevated from the NXT each season. The PRO16 is complete with a very talented roster of teams throughout the United States. The NXT has a few spots remaining that will be open starting today to apply for the 2023 season. The 2023 Schedule March 31-April 2: Springfield, Missouri, and Ft. Personal Statement
My current high school goal is to raise my GPA to a weighted 4.8 and graduate at the top of my class. My college dream and aspirations are to get a full ride athletic and/or academic scholarship to the college of my choice. While there, I desire to obtain my bachelors and postgrad degrees. In college, I want to be a contributor in helping my team win championships and make the guys around me better. I strongly believe that the school I attend and the team that I play for will benefit because I'm a leader. I lead through having a great work ethic, alongside being an encourager and team player as well as being coachable and competitive. If you were to ask someone who knows me well, they would tell you that I'm honest, have integrity , good time management, ethical, and fun to be around. This stems from having a stable and loving home with both of my parents at home and active in my life. My father was a D1 athlete and has been a physician for the past 25 years, with 4 being in the NBA.
From a young age, I liked watching basketball on TV but never tried playing it because I was too shy and afraid to take the chance. Once I turned twelve years old, I decided to try playing the sport that I loved to watch. During my first tryout, I was very overwhelmed with fear and uncertainty that I wasn’t good enough to play since everyone else started playing way before me. There was even a point during the tryout that I walked off because I didn’t understand a drill and went home because I was too embarrassed to go back. Thoughts of insecurity and fear filled my mind, but my parents wouldn’t let me quit and made me go back to deal with my fears. The next day, I did the full tryout without leaving and made the team. This overcoming of adversity has shaped me into the person I am today.

- The "G"1 years experienceA multi-sport athlete at St. Joseph’s High School in Cleveland, Tony received multiple scholarship offers for both football and basketball from leading Division 1 programs including Michigan, Nebraska, and several others. Tony chose basketball, believing it was a greater challenge that offered more personal growth opportunities. During his collegiate career at Marquette University, he recorded 956 assists, which as of today still remains the eighth-highest total in NCAA Division I history. Tony played professional basketball for 13 years in the United States and throughout Europe and was a two-time Dutch League All-Star in 1998 and 2000. After retiring from professional basketball, Tony began his coaching career in 2009 as the Strength and Conditioning Manager for The University of Southern California (USC). In 2010 he was promoted to a full-time Assistant Coach position through 2013. Following USC, he became an Assistant Coach 2014 at St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California, where he helped the team win a Division 2 state championship. He then moved on to become an assistant for Cal State Los Angeles for two seasons before retiring from coaching to pursue his passion for training players.
