Personal Statement
I have had a lot of success as an athlete up to this point in my life. I have been fortunate enough to be a part of many teams that have won championships in football, basketball, and track. But, in the fall of 2016, I was the quarterback of a team that went undefeated and unscored on until our championship game. That loss made me more focused and more determined to be a leader both on and off the field! I have always been taught that leadership is an action - not a position; and I intend to keep displaying that to myself, my family, my teammates, and my community while playing the game of football and working hard in the classroom.
So far in my athletic journey, I have learned that "the lights are always on" and integrity is an important quality as a student-athlete. I have also learned that surrounding myself with reliable, honest people will help me through my struggles and triumphs in my daily life. Therefore, I'm looking for a program that can give me a high quality education, a dynamic athletic experience, and help me grow physically, socially, and psychologically. I firmly believe that I can compete at the college level and that my presence on campus and as a pillar of your team will have a strong, positive impact through my actionable leadership. I have many more goals to achieve and I would love to achieve them at a school that embraces me as a person; and embodies a championship mentality not just on the field, but in life.
