Personal Statement
My love for this sport is very strong for a girl my age to have. For a long time I've always been watching softball on television, from the division one teams in college to watching the 2008 olympics over and over again. I have been playing softball for almost eight years and over the years of playing, I found the passion and love that I have for softball and how it inspires me to get better at every practice to work hard and to never cheat myself into the easy way out. The sport of softball gives me so much joy in life and it shapes my life as a better softball player and person.
The sport of softball has made a big impact on my life and helps me make good decisions for my future and softball career. I've been taking all types of softball lessons over the past six years, including hitting, catching, and infielding in addition to travel ball practices. I have been taking hitting lessons from Kiko Garcia every other week for about a year and a half and he has helped me improve my form of hitting and my general understanding of the game. Every practice or lesson that I go to, I always work as hard as my abilities can go. I always listen to what the coaches are saying and what advice they give me and I adapt easily to new information and techniques that are taught to me with little practice. I work almost every day of the week to improve the performance of how my playing style is viewed by coaches and how I can show my playing style off in a way that shows how hard that I’ve worked for the past years of my life. When I attend any of my practices or lessons I always make sure to ask the important questions on my mind and ask how I can improve. When picking up a new play at practice I make sure to practice it alone, this would include improving my sidearm every day, knowing the plays that my team conduct during the games and knowing the new hitting tips on how to improve my form and to hit the ball harder and see the ball better.
Ever since I was little I've loved to play sports and not just softball, I have also played basketball and soccer but eventually quit soccer to play more of the sport that I love, which is softball. I've figured out when playing the other sports that I didn't have the same passion and the feeling to practice more to get better than it was for softball. I've figured out some majors that I would love to study, which include Art and business. I found a lot of interest in those two subjects for the past two years, and to whatever school I get into, I will try my best to study hard and to play harder. For the schools that I would love to get into has a quite big range for me. For my first option, I would love to be in division one, for it has been one of my dreams for quite a while. But I am also open to go to division two schools as well, and I know that in any division that I play in I will appreciate being there. I love softball and I hope that I could share this love with others and improve even more by good, inspiring coaches. I will also try my best to improve for anyone who wants me to play for their team.
Sincerely,
Marsh Hadley
