Personal Statement

My name is Thomas Bui.  I just completed my junior year, and will graduate from Sherman E. Burroughs High School, CA  in the summer of 2021. I’m currently in the top of my class with a near perfect GPA.  I enjoy the STEM related classes and programs.

I have been swimming competitively since I was nine, and currently swim with the Swim Club of Ridgecrest (SCOR), CA. I am a breaststroker, but competitive in other strokes.   I am a team leader in my club.  I lead by examples to motivate my teammates.  I am coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working swimmers in the pool. I will be competing in the upcoming high level meets in southern California as well as high school meets if there is a season.  Here is a list of my current short course best times:

100 Breast: 57.90 second

100 Fly: 53.03 second

100 Back: 54.65 second

100 Free: 50.05 second

400 IM: 4:11.97 second

200 Breast: 2:06.59 second

200 IM: 1:56.19 second
