Personal Statement
Football is my passion and the football field is where I am most comfortable and at ease. I started playing football at a young age and gravitated to the sport immediately. I have played and continue to play other sports, but football is the sport that I believe my talents are best suited for. While I am dedicated to football and wish to go to the next level with the sport, it does not define me. I also do not think sports are less important than academics or being a person of character or being a leader in everything I do. I am a multi-dimensional person and all of these things work together to make me the type of athlete, student and leader that will make me an asset to any team.
I have the ability fight when I face adversity as well. During my freshman year of football, I tore my hamstring off the bone during a game. It held me back for several months but I pushed my recovery, put in the work and was able to come back before the end of the season. I believe I excelled at taking control of my recovery and getting back in the playing condition. I expect to continue to push myself to help me get to the next level.
In addition to football, I also play lacrosse and I wrestle. I enjoy all of these sports and I think they complement each other and make me a better athlete overall. I enjoy singing and have been in a number of musicals, as well as my school's chorus, for many years. My family has always provided me with tremendous support and encouragement and my parents serve as great examples of what can be achieved if you work hard, stay focused and do your best to make good decisions. I think all of these things work together to make me a multi-dimensional person who works well with others and who will bring all of these qualities the to team that I join.
I am really looking forward to bringing my physical, mental and creative talents to a university or college team that I can contribute to and grow with to help achieve success for my team as well as personal success during college and beyond.
