Personal Statement
The one thing that stands out most of all is that I am a military child. I have moved only four times since birth, however, I have lived overseas most of my life so I do not call one place "home". This means that I can go to school anywhere and not be worried about being close to family. I am always held to a very high standard, by my parents and myself. I set difficult, yet achievable goals, and I put in the work to always better myself. When I accomplish my goals, I raise the bar and work to meet that standard. While living overseas, I have visited 18 countries. I have experienced many different cultures and this has helped me develop an appreciation for everyone from all walks of life.
I am strong, yet have empathy. I demand the same work ethic from my team, yet I am able to find those who fall short and push them until they see their potential. I also find those who are too hard on themselves, rally around them, and shift their focus back on the task at hand.
I work harder on my craft than anyone else that I know. Each day I am either in the gym working on my strength and conditioning, or I am out in the field working on my mechanics. I know how to ask for help, and I know when to stop. I am a good leader and follower, when I have to be, and I am great at listening, taking direction, and following instructions. I am not afraid to admit my mistakes, and I never gloat.
I put just as much focus on school as I do athletics. Grades are very important to my family; education is the key to most every door. If everything is taken from me, I know that I will, in the very least, have an education.
My collegiate goals are to earn a degree in Sports Medicine so I can give back to others. If football does not work out, I would like to focus on helping wounded warriors and their families through the power of physical therapy and athletic training. The number one goal I have for myself right now is earning high scores on both my SAT and ACT. Secondly, I will continue to push myself to graduate high school with a high GPA. My long-term goals are to play D-1 football and eventually play in the NFL.
