Personal Statement

I am a student who balances my grades with being an athlete, while also giving back to my community with multiple volunteer hours. My grades stay between A's and B's and I give 110% at my sports practices and games. I am a three sport athlete (football/wrestling/track-field events). I also do off season travel teams and conditioning to make sure I am always bettering myself. I am currently the team captain and I greatly enjoy being apart of a team; encouraging each other through trials, pushing each other to do better and growing together as a team and as individuals. 

I give back to my community by volunteering with many different youth sports (youth travel football/wrestling and YMCA flag football/basketball). I also volunteer to be on our local Peer Jury, which is run through the Ottawa Police Department to help youths who made a bad choice (minor offense) get a second chance to do better before it goes on their record. 

I am interested in going to college to further my education and give myself the best opportunity as an adult with a successful career. I would like to go to college for engineering. I am interested in playing sports in college as well. I have a deep love for football and wrestling and I am interested in participating in one or both of these sports while I am in college.

I give 110% in everything I do. I am committed to being successful in both school and sports, while continuing to give back to my community, throughout my high school career and into my college career as well.
