Personal Statement

I am a 6’0” junior at Mountain View High School in Stafford, VA. My primary football positions are Defensive End and Long Snapper. I’m also a varsity shot put and discus thrower. I am a true example of what a student-athlete looks like, balancing my academics and athletic abilities. During the season I had 43/27 T/A, 15 QBP, 9 TFL, 6 Sacks, 3 BLK, 2 FC and 1 FR.  I was also selected as 2019 1st Team Defense Lineman All - 5D Regional Team and 2nd Team Defensive Lineman All - Commonwealth District Football Team, with Honorable Mention in both All-NoVA and All-Area.  During Indoor track season I qualified for I qualified for 2019 Commonwealth District Meet, 5A Regional D Championship and All-State Championship. All while maintaining perfect attendance, a 3.4 GPA and an active member of Mountain View CHESS club.

During my sophomore year I was the only sophomore starting on the defensive line for every game (12 regular season/2 playoff games) with 24/20 T/A, 9 QBP, 2 TFL, 2 Sacks, and 1 FR. Throughout Indoor Track and Field season, I qualified for both, Commonwealth District Meet and 5A Regional D Championship and Outdoor Track and Field - Commonwealth District Meet (ranked 2nd in the district), 5A Regional D Championship and All-State Championship (https://va.milesplit.com/athletes/7604028-justin-watson/stats).

I have a strong desire to continue my education and becoming a part of your great academic program.  My current off-season goals is to continue adding mass and strength, while increasing my speed. I would like to go to a school with a great atmosphere where I can find balance between the classes, Football, Track and Field.
