Personal Statement
I am a leader.... I embrace the fact that all eyes are on me all the time. Being a team leader means I must assume the role of leadership. Every time I enter the huddle I know I must show confidence and the team always responds to my positive mental attitude. My team will always respond positively to my ability to make big plays at critical downs. I always put in the most effort.... Off season and during season I set the example and team expectations. Off-season I play on a 7on7 league team and during season I am always first at practice and last to leave. I make every weight-room day and workout with Setta Performance speed and strength training. I also work on my skills at GoDeep Football Academy to progress in my position.I am football intelligent..... I know every aspect of the game. I have played this game year round since the age of 5. I also volunteer coach a youth arena football team off-season. I know the offense as well as understand how the defense strategizes to stop me. I am a two way player on my high school team where I play multiple positions. During the season I study hard every week to understand the strategy of my opponents and I am very instinctive during the game..... looking for that big play to seal the win or the big play that will bring momentum back our way. I possess dexterity and mental resilience.... I know games are won and lost with ball security and last minute decisions. I handle the ball with confidence and protect it at all costs. My job is to move the chains and keep the momentum on our side. I do not dwell on the last play. I always concentrate my mind on the present play and stay keenly aware of my surroundings on the field at all times.... I am the leader!
ADDITIONAL:
1) Why do I want to be recruited to play sports in college?
Football is a big part of my life. After I reach my full potential as a player I will continue in coaching the sport that I love.
2) Athletes are leaders on and off the field. I demonstrate leadership in both areas.
I help organize, coach and play both sides of the ball on a successful offseason 7on7 football league team.
3) I pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
I work on my sport year round and love the opportunity to playing multiple positions as needed on both offense, defense and special teams. I do all this while maintaining a 3.4 grade point average.
4) I am involved in service in my community and these efforts are important to me.
I help coach my local community youth football team at the 8th grade level and I am a student helper during summer camps and offseason events at my high school.
