Personal Statement

My name is Michael Floyd Cunningham, a highly motivated student-athlete.  I push myself to take my skills to the next level by continuously working hard in the classroom and on the football field.  Procrastination is not an option for me in pursuing my goals of attending a four year college/university pursuing  a degree in Engineering and playing on the school’s football team. 

I am a leader and a team player.  I’ve enjoyed being part of a Robotics Mentoring Program for the last three years. Displaying my leadership skills as one of the team’s programmers, I instruct other members on how to successfully achieve specific missions.  In the classroom, I enjoy mentoring other students struggling in math.  Math being one of my favorite subjects, I find it extremely rewording being able to assist others when I see them not grasping a concept as quickly as I do.   

My passion for the game of football has been rooted in me since I was four years old.  I’ve been the team and defensive captain from the very being of my years of playing football.  My knowledge of the game is extremely high.  Being able to teach and play any position in the front seven has made me a complete player.  I’ve played multiple positions on both sides of the ball.  I love the sound of the pads hitting and the crowd going crazy after a big play.  The driving force for me doing well on and off the field is knowing that I have to continue to excel in everything I go to do.
