Personal Statement
My parents are a tremendous impact in my life, and they are irreplaceable supports that helped me get to where I wanted to go and figure out how I was going to get there. They are always encouraging and guiding me down paths that are going to help me grow and to be successful and are teaching me to work hard, be independent, and never give up. My Nana is another person who has influenced me to do great things. She achieved 41 1/2 years on the police department and was a commander when she left due to her dedication. She taught me how to be persistent and to be committed to what you are doing because it's what you're passionate about.
One of my sister’s friends from high school played a role in finding volleyball. I had spiked an interest a few years prior from playing a school season but I never really got to looking into it until a little later. Only after Katy Hanson, my sister’s friends and player for the high school, landed a full ride scholarship to Georgia State, I knew this was it. Eventually, we found a stating club, YOSA or Youth Sports Academy, and I joined. I played 14 Gold my first year and found my passion for the sport. Ever since I have used my love of the game in combination with commitment to the sport to push me forward into new and exciting spots and games I get to play. I plan to continue playing through college and finish out my journey as best I can.
However, before athletics comes success in academics. I am lucky to be going to Colorado Early Colleges where l will be graduating with an associate’s degree for free. I want to strive for a 3.85 GPA minimum and want to graduate a straight A student for all four years of high school. The same things applies to college academics for my bachelors and masters degrees. I want to graduate with a degree in forensic science and go into the criminal justice field whether it is in a lab or out on the streets. It is my goal in these next few years to implement every skill I have learned and have to be successful in what I strive to be and accomplish in my life.
