Personal Statement
Thanks to my local Parks and Rec. department I was able to start playing football in third grade. From the first time I played in a game I knew that football would be something big in my life. Through playing football I have learned a lot about myself and learned some great characteristics. I have learned that in life you will always get knocked down, but no matter how much you want to just stay there you have to get back up. I also have learned a lot about leadership through football by helping my fellow teammates on and off the field. I learned that I am a lot stronger than people give me credit for. When I started playing I was susceptible to breaking out in tears when confronted. Now I am able to take criticism and make it into a teaching moment. I would like to end high school with a 3.5 GPA and have at least 30 college credits done by the time I graduate high school. In college I wish to pursue a sports management degree and go into sports announcing. Along with being in sports I am also an Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 66 from Monticello, IA.
