Personal Statement

I'm Giselle Vogel and I'm a junior (2020)!  I'm a 5'11 setter and can play OPP as well!  I've just increased my vertical to 9'8 and I'm continuing my workouts to improve.  I really love everything about volleyball!  I play both indoor and beach volleyball!  My whole family plays volleyball (mom, dad, and twin 13 yr old brothers) and for fun we watch USA National teams, colleges teams and International volleyball games!  Besides hiking, reading, or getting boba with my brothers, my weekend highlights are attending college volleyball games (both women's and men's / indoor and beach)!

I've been blessed to be a part of the A2 High Performance Team for the past 3 yrs, an alternate for the A1 HP team, and A3 HP team my first year. I'm usually the youngest player at the program but playing with older girls helps me become a better player and athlete!

I've been a captain for my club team for 4 yrs and I believe it's important to always encourage my teammates and be a positive person for them!  When they are down, I help brighten their spirits and help them overcome any doubts or negative thoughts.

I really enjoy my morning workouts so that I can be a stronger player!  I feel it is so important to keep your body conditioned and strong, off and during season, and just being healthy all around.

For the past 3 yrs I've been really helping my parent’s volleyball club by coaching 8 - 11 yr olds!  It's so much fun teaching them what I love to do.  I feel blessed to give back to my community by putting smiles on their faces when they finally make a serve or they spike a ball for the first time.  I don't have a sister so they are like little sisters to me!

I was home-schooled for many years but now I attend a Private School called Ontario Christian High School!  We just won the CIF SS D5 Championship and were in State Semi Finals!!  We're soo excited and I'm happy play with such amazing players!  Last year, played for Upland Christian Academy and our team went all the way up to the Semi Regional Finals and we took a game in the 1st CIF round!  It was a great year and experience!

I'm planning to study Business in college and I would love to play for a college volleyball program, preferably both indoor and beach.  If not, that's ok because as long as I'm playing, I'm a happy camper!!  It would be an honor to play for the USA National team as it's been my dream since I was little!  Since I want to play beyond college whether it’s on the USA National Team or playing Professionally overseas, I would really like to have a college coach who can help me be the best player I can possibly be!  I hope you can give me an opportunity to see what I can do!  Thank you!!
