Personal Statement

    My name is Rayna Zimmer and I am a 2026 graduate. I have lived in Calgary, Alberta, Canada since I was born. I have been playing softball since I was 5 and since then I am always eager to be the best on the field and to never stop working towards it. When it comes to softball I am very hard working and have a sense of perseverance to what I do. I have always been interested to play competitive post secondary softball. I now play for U17A Calgary Adrenaline Softball but from 2017-2022 I was playing for Calgary Kaizen Softball.

     Being a leader whether I was on the bench or on the field was very important to me. Staying loud and not getting down on myself has caused me to be a better player. I am coachable, hard working, competitive and I strive to be a positive teammate. Receiving feedback has only made me a better player and had helped me improve my confidence.

     When it comes to the classroom, it’s tough to keep a balance between sports and school but I feel I manage my time well so I still receive excellent grades while still focusing on this sport that means so much to me. I seek academic validation and I try my hardest when it comes to school so I can continue to do what I love outside of school.
