Personal Statement

 

My name is De'Kaylin Brown, 5'9 210lbs, and I am part of the 2025 graduating class at Dymally High School in Los Angeles, California.

Football has been a physical and mental journey but also a source of inspiration, teaching me priceless life lessons that extend far beyond the parameters of the field. Throughout my athletic career, I have achieved several MaxPreps Game MVP awards and been in the top 10 tackle stat leaders for the LA City Section Coliseum League. These have been a testament to my skills and reflect my work ethic. Whether it's pushing my limits during out-of-team practice or workouts or collaborating seamlessly with teammates during intense competitions, I thrive in environments that demand discipline, teamwork, and a pursuit of excellence. 

Academics-wise, I have the honor of being a secondary honor roll student for the school year of 2022-23, and I currently hold a 2.4 GPA. The driving force behind my dedication to school is to make my family proud as well as to be in great academic standing for sports and to be able to attend a good college/university. I abide by the title “Student-Athlete” as the work I put into the book translates to the work I put in on the field and is one of my greatest strengths.
