Personal Statement

My name is Joshua Shaw. I love football!   I'm reliable and a hard worker. I'm committed to continuously pushing my limits both on the field and in school.   I've consistently started on both sides of the  all. This year I played Nose Tackle and Guard. I've also played DT.   I attend Mount Carmel High School in Chicago and we just won our 3rd striaght state championship in Class 7A.

Before Mount Carmel, I attended a catholic elementary school. I feel fortunate to have received a solid education and have been the importance of good character. 

Football has been a large part of my life for many years. It has taught me many lessons, including teamwork, perseverance, adaptability and coachability. With practice, I am developing strong skills and a deep knowledge of the game. This has helped me to thrive both as an individual player and as a leader on my teams. Football has also taught me the importance of mental toughness, which I take pride in as a player. 

My goal is to continue building, so that I can use my football skills, dedication, strong work ethic and positive outlook to join a competitive college football program!
