Personal Statement
My name is Lamareon Thompson. Initially in travel & rec football only my teammates and coaches called me Bronco; however, once I started Middle School everyone began calling me Bronco even my teachers and the name followed me to High School on and off the field.
I started playing rec football in the first grade and travel football in 5/6 grade. While in middle school (8th grade) I earned a starting spot playing right guard on the High School JV team, and in the 9th grade I earned a spot on the Varsity team starting as right guard. I am interested in almost all positions, and will commit myself to play whatever position necessary to help my team.
I am currently interested in studying engineering once I go to college with the understanding that may change as I get older. I understand that my education is just as important as my football career if not more important. I consider myself a hard worker in the classroom and on the field. I don’t take my talent for granted, I am humbled daily because I understand that a lot of players wish and pray for just a fraction of the opportunities that I have had.
I am a dedicated athlete and passionate about the game of football. After every game I take pride in saying “I gave it everything I had, and did the best job that I could”. I will be an asset to any college because I have and exhibit the traits of a GREAT football player: I am thorough and pay attention to detail, I know how to communicate effectively, I have good physical fitness and endurance, I exemplify leadership skills, and I absolutely love the game of football.
“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.” ~ Pele
