Personal Statement

I have aspired to play at one of the highest collegiate levels, and my passion for the sport has only grown. Volleyball has become a significant part of my life; I breathe, eat, and sleep it. It serves as a major outlet for me. My team feels like family, and I am with them every day of the week. When I step onto that court, everything else fades away. My parents have always warned me about the commitment required to become a college athlete, but once I set my mind on something, I believe the sky is the limit. I also have a deep interest in animals and biology, which is why I want to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine—I want to help those who cannot speak for themselves. As a sophomore, I have taken on as many challenging Honors and AP classes as possible, particularly in the sciences, such as AP Biology, Anatomy, and Honors Chemistry, to further my academic goals. I also love to stay involved in my school community; I participate in many clubs, and I have even started the process of establishing a new Pre-Veterinary Medicine Association. What sets me apart from others is my determination and drive in both athletics and academics. When I see an opportunity, I go for it. I believe that nothing is impossible if you set your mind to it, and with the support of my community, family, and friends, anything is achievable.
