Personal Statement
My name is Dane Firmstone and I am from Mt. Pleasant, PA. My parents have always made sure I understand that being a good player is secondary to being a good person. They hold me to a high standard in my academics, athletics, and character. I will bring this dedication to my college team. I have had to learn to compete every day and make sure that I prove that I am more than the 'coach's kid' or the undersized player that some people see. My dad has taught me from a young age what it means to be part of a team, how to play my role, how to be a leader, and that being coachable is an extremely important asset.
I am a 4.0 GPA student taking Honors level classes, including some for college credit. I intend to pursue a career in physical therapy and plan to get my DPT. I understand that the goal of college is to achieve my degree and know the importance of academic success.
