Personal Statement
My name is Charlet, and I’m a 16-year-old student-athlete with a deep passion for softball and a strong commitment to hard work. For as long as I can remember, sports have been at the center of my life, shaping who I am and how I face challenges. Before I found my love for softball, I was a high-level gymnast for seven years. Gymnastics taught me discipline, body control, mental toughness, and the importance of training with purpose—lessons that have become a huge part of who I am today.
Transitioning from gymnastics to softball wasn’t easy, but it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I quickly fell in love with the game—the strategy, the team atmosphere, and the chance to grow every single day. I bring the same work ethic and drive that I had as a gymnast into every softball practice and game. Whether it’s spending extra hours in the batting cage or studying game film to improve my performance, I’m constantly striving to be the best version of myself.
Softball has taught me how to lead with confidence, stay calm under pressure, and never give up—no matter the score. Every challenge on the field is an opportunity to grow, and I embrace those moments. I’ve learned that success comes from consistent effort, resilience, and a willingness to keep learning.
My goal is to play college softball and continue developing both as an athlete and as a student. I’m excited to compete at a higher level, contribute to a team that shares my passion, and work with coaches who can push me to reach my full potential. I know the journey won’t be easy, but I’m ready for the hard work and the commitment it takes to succeed.
Softball has become a part of who I am, just like gymnastics once was—and I’m ready to take that passion to the next level.
