Personal Statement
My name is Andre “AJ” Mayne Jr., a 6’2”, 185lbs left-handed wide receiver and tri-sport athlete at Cardinal Ritter College Prep in St. Louis, Missouri. I compete in football, basketball, and track—but football is my true passion and the sport I’m committed to taking to the next level.
Coming from a family of athletes—including an uncle who played in the NFL—I've been raised on discipline, effort, and love for the game. My household has always held high standards, and I carry those values into everything I do—on the field, in the classroom, and in life. I pattern my game after Odell Beckham Jr., bringing explosive playmaking, strong hands, and elite body control, while carrying the leadership and versatility inspired by LeBron James.
What sets me apart is my relentless work ethic, coachability, and drive to lead by example. Whether in games, practice, or film sessions, I’m fully locked in. I believe in doing things right the first time, and if I don’t, I stay at it until I get it right. I understand that success doesn’t come from talent alone—it’s earned through consistent effort and trust in the process. My teammates know I’m dependable, passionate, and always focused on what’s best for the team.
Off the field, I’m equally focused. I currently carry a 3.9 GPA and am a member of the National Honor Society. I’m on track to graduate with a 3.4 or higher and take pride in being a well-rounded student-athlete who can contribute both academically and athletically.
I’m seeking a program that values excellence, accountability, and culture—where I can continue to grow, compete, and lead. I’m ready to bring my size, skill set, and mentality to the next level and earn my place from Day One.
Let’s build something great together.
