Personal Statement
I am a 2 sport athlete (football, track) at Rockcastle Co High School. In football, I started varsity on both sides of the ball both Freshman and Sophomore years. I’ve been told by my Head Coach, Chris Larkey, it’s the first time in my schools history a freshman earned and played on both sides of the ball for every varsity football game. I was selected for the Class 3A All District Team as a Freshman and Sophomore. I also play CB & WR for two 7v7 travel teams: KY Next Up and Indy Select South. In 2023, our Next Up team competed in the 2023 Gridiron 18 & under 7v7 league in the Knoxville, TN area but this year we’re just playing in tournaments occasionally. I am also playing with the 18 & under Indy Select South (KY) team on weekends, when I’m not competing in tournaments with my Next Up team.
In 2022, I started for our RCHS Freshman and JV basketball teams and sometimes played in varsity games. I decided not to play this year (Sophomore) and I have dedicated my time this off season to lifting weights to get bigger and stronger as well as attending speed and agility training. I run outdoor track for RCHS and made the high school relay team my 8th grade year. I compete in several events but my favorites are the 100 meter dash, long jump and the 4x100 relay events. Sometimes, I run on the 4x200 relay team as well. Both of our mens relay teams have set new school records for RCHS and we qualified for the Class 2A State Championships. At least 4 to 5 days a week, I get up at 4:45 and drive to our local gym in town to lift weights from 5:15-7am and 2 days a week I lift from 5-6:30 am at the local gym then go to RCHS to work out with my football teammates from 6:30-7:45 am before school. After school, I have track practice. Two evenings a week, I travel to Louisville to train at CTSP under Corey Taylor for speed, strength and agility training.
This past summer, besides football practice and playing summer basketball with my RCHS teammates, I had a part time job working in construction. I went to work at 1pm after football practice was over at noon several days a week when I was not playing in summer basketball games/tournaments with my RCHS basketball team.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
An interesting fact about me is, after almost 5 years in foster care, I was adopted in March 2023. My adoptive parents were my foster parents for almost 4 years. I feel so blessed that God placed us together!
My future plans are to attend and graduate college while playing college football. After that, I want to play in the NFL. Yes, I know my dreams are big but with God’s continued guidance in my life, hard work, dedication and the love and support of my family, I believe anything is possible!
