Personal Statement

My hard work and commitment to basketball is second nature. I'm always spending extra time at my local YMCA working on my game and lifting weights.  I've been told that there's no one that spends more time at the gym than me.  It's because I love the game and spending time in the gym is fun.  Plus I have big goals and dreams.  As a Junior on the high school basketball team, I was chosen to be one of the team captains.   Besides leading the team during games, I support and encourage my teammates in practices in all circumstances.   I believe that playing hard and with intent in practice is the best way to translate skills to the game.   In the classroom, I have a 4.3 GPA.   One of my favorite quotes is from one of my favorite players, Kevin Durant.  He says, "Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard."
