Personal Statement
Hello! My name is Andi Householder, and I am currently a junior at Burrell High School. Even though I had just only started playing soccer at 7 years old, it feels as if I have been on the field for much longer. Since the beginning, I have been told that I play the sport with my heart. While I may have not been the fastest or had the best skillset on the team, my teammates always could count on me to bring unmatchable energy onto the field. Not only did my love for the sport grow over time, but so did I as an athlete. Through extra effort, time, and coaching, I have improved tremendously and have earned a starting position in my freshman, sophomore, and junior year. I am grateful to say that I earned the team captain position this year and I enjoyed getting the opportunity to lead my team. I am extremely coachable and versatile, giving me the willingness and ability to play in almost any position my coach asks me to. After each practice or game, I have always strived to leave everything I have on the field while encouraging my teammates to do the same.
My first priority will always remain academics, but soccer is a close second. I aim to create a healthy balance between soccer, school, family, and extracurricular activities. I am a 4.0 GPA student and I take pride in my academic efforts. I participate in 8 clubs, holding a leadership position in 4. My goal after high school is to play at the collegiate level and attend an academically strong school. I also plan to work towards earning a degree in psychology.
