Personal Statement
Softball was introduced to me by my dad at the age of 5 . After feeling my way through tee-ball and coach pitch I knew I had found something that I had a passion for. I was very fortunate to have been coached throughout my younger years by several dedicated students of the game. One in particular was a former catcher at George Mason University named Andy Ihle. Coach Ihle taught me everything he knew about catching but more importantly he constantly was teaching me how to carry myself not only on the softball field but off as well. Traits that served me well as I became the starting catcher on my varsity team as a freshman.
While being diagnosed with learning disabilities, I have not let that stop me from being successful in the classroom as well evidenced by my 3.8 GPA through 3 semesters. I believe with hard work you can overcome just about anything.
Having practice every day and playing multiple games a week over the last few years has reinforced my desire to continue to play this great game at the next level. I believe I not only have the talent to play at the collegiate level but also the work ethic and leadership skills to make an impact. My experience in multiple sports has given me a wide range of skills which have prepared me to be the best I can be and to share those skills and lessons with all those around me.
