Personal Statement

As a two sport athlete I have learned a lot about myself through Football and Track. Each sport has taught me many lessons that have helped me not only on the field or track but in the real world as well.  Football allows me to be a part of a family made up of my peers. Each one of us has to work together to accomplish a single goal. I depend on them and they depend on me. If one of us does not do our job, then we put the team in jeopardy. Unlike football, track is an individual" team sport where I'm competing with and against my teammates. We are all pushing each other to reach our max potential but in the end, a successful race for one teammate can bump another friend and teammate out of the running. Being part of sports has taught me to work with and respect all types of people. Everyone is not cut from the same cloth, and in life there will always be some people who are really different from me; which is valuable in all aspects of life, inside and outside of sports.

I have been aforded an opportunity to serve on next year's 2024 Football Leadership team. I am grateful for the opportunity to further strengthen my leadership and communication skills. I am also a member of the LHS Student Council.  My grades have been and always will be very important to me. I have worked hard the achieve balance between my academics and extra curricular activities in order to be successful in both. In college I want to major in Engineering or Sports Medicine with a minor in Sports Communication. I believe my high school experience is helping to prepare me for the challenge of balancing college academics.
