Personal Statement

I have been playing football since I was four years old. Being part of a team has always given me a sense of being part of something bigger than myself. A safe place where I belong regardless of what is going on around me. 

I am a team player,  strong in the belief that I play where I am needed and where my coaches put me. Whether it be offense or defense and most times both. I believe I give 100% all the time, and work to the best of my ability on and off the field. Leading  by example and trying to push my teammates and younger classmen to be a better football player everyday. We are a team, where we are as a team shows our ability to work together to achieve things bigger than ourselves. 

When the season ends I continue to work out and move to my next sport. During the summer I attend as many camps and clinics as possible.  Always trying to prepare for the next season. Being part of football and track has taught me to work with and respect a lot of different types of people, from all walks of life. This prepares me for being a part of a diverse team made up of all types of people. 

I work hard to be academically strong and keep my grades up. Being dyslexic, I have had to work hard to achieve my goals. I am involved in multiple extracurricular activities. Choir, freshman – senior board, FCA, Sons of the American Legion, attended Texas Boys State as a delegate my Junior summer, and debate just to mention a few. I have kept a good balance in both academics, extra curricular and sports. I strive to be the best and give my best in whatever I am doing. 

I believe this will help me achieve my goal of playing college football and still be able to pursue a degree to carry me through my future.
