Personal Statement

I am currently the state champion outdoor & state champion indoor triple and long jumper in the state of Kentucky, and was recently named the 2022 Kentucky Female Indoor Athlete of the Year. And all of this was accomplished over the last year during my first-ever outdoor and indoor track seasons.  What's more important is that I have a great deal of potential—and drive—for future growth.  

In June 2021, I also qualified for the KHSAA State Championships in four events: triple jump, long jump, 100M, and 200M—placing 4th in triple jump and 5th in long jump. Additionally, I recently qualified and competed in the 2021 National Junior Olympic Championships (August 2021). 

As I mentioned,  the 2021 outdoor high school track season (my junior year) was my first-ever track and field experience, and I have been fortunate to quickly attain a great deal of success within my first year of training and competing. Also worth noting is that I'm a multi-sport athlete, competing in volleyball (national club team and HS varsity team), as well as tennis (where I have also advanced and competed at the state tournament). I am regarded among my athletic coaches and teachers as someone with determination, discipline, and a strong drive to succeed—traits displayed both in and out of the classroom.

What coaches should know about me is that, as a STUDENT-athlete, I'm equally as committed to academics as I am athletics. Academic success is a top priority for me. In addition to being named a Kentucky Governor Scholar, I have been selected to the KHSAA Academic All-State First Team for all of my varsity sports, having maintained an above-4.0 GPA throughout my school career and attaining a 33 on my ACT. I also hold numerous leadership positions within my school and am actively involved in service within my community. Ultimately, my plan is to pursue a career in medicine.
