Personal Statement

My name is Derald Spears Jr. and I’m a senior defensive back at Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I am 17 years old, 6’0” tall, and I weigh 194 pounds. This summer I was recorded running a ten yard fly at 22.47 miles per hour. I would love to play at a division 1 college where I can further develop my skills, showcase my talent, and play against the best competition in the nation. I am very passionate about this game and I’ve wanted to play it since I was about 7 years old. It’s hard to put into words how much this game means to me. Thank you for your time.
