Personal Statement

*Committed to Hope College Women‘s T&F

My running career began when I was young. Ever since, I have always felt the urge to strive and build upon the running foundation I have accumulated over the years. Losing my Freshman 2020 season, I have put a lot of pressure on myself to improve for the 2022 season with massive, yet achievable goals. I have been training myself whether that is lifting weights, visiting my school track, or going on long runs, I am proactively at work for my Junior season. I earned Varsity Letter Standard my first year of high school track and have larger goals to come for the following seasons. I am a goal-driven, determined individual who doesn't compare myself to other athletes, yet I work hard to compete against my own times and records. As far as my role models go, I look up to Ivona Dadic, Austrian heptathlete, and Erin Marsh, heptathlete for Duke. Apart from being a track athlete, I prioritize my academics as well. I stand Sophomore year with a 4.0 GPA and intend to improve it by taking challenging courses. Due to the immense importance and impact running has had on my life thus far, my consideration in continuing my track career into college is an aspect of my future that I take seriously.
