Measuring in at 6-foot-7.5, 400 pounds, Russell has the makings of a national recruit. He has impressive natural athleticism for that size and it's not a surprise when you consider his mother, Reicina Coleman, played basketball at Penn State and Georgia i

Personal Statement

I am coachable, a true teammate! I love learning and work as hard as possible to gain knowledge and meet my goals. I have aspired to become a Marine Biologist since I was 5 years old. Along the way I have also added interest in paleontology and archeology. I currently have a 3.2 GPA and every semester I work hard to keep it high. I have been off the radar from football due to tearing my ACL going into my Junior season. I battled through that and am fully recovered and ready to go! A few months after my surgery though, my family relocated to Texas and I have had limited play for my senior year due to being recently cleared (05/2023) and new to the program. Sometimes its disheartening and I also realize at the same time that I have to just do the best with the time I am given and whatever is in the best interest of my team. That time away from the game has made me more appreciative of all it brings and pushed me to be more driven, determined, and uncomfortable with my game. I am ready to continue working on my craft and becoming the best version of myself. Due to these challenges, I believe myself to be a "best kept secret!" I will do whatever is required to improve myself and my team!!

My freshmen year of high school I was the nose tackle on my team. I thoroughly enjoyed playing that position and in my sophomore year, I played left tackle and have just continue that through today. I do enjoy being a left tackle and am also willing to be malleable to what's going to work for the team. I believe what sets me apart from the rest of the recruits you may have its my resilience, attention to detail, dedication, and willingness to go above and beyond to learn what is needed and improve what I already possess. I am a scholar, I love to learn, and due to this love, it makes it enjoyable for me to be serious about my academics to enable me to continue adding knowledge to my plate of interest.
