Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Daniel.M.Yancy. I'm from Spring, Texas and I'm 16 years of age. I attend at Oak Ridge High School where I play Football and will participate in Track during the spring, I might also add I will be powerlifting under either the USAPL or USPA Associate (I have not yet decided). Football wise I am an Outside Linebacker, I have played multiple positions including Defensive Line (EDGE/DE/DT), Offensive Line (LG/LT/TE), and Fullback along with some inside backer this year. This is my first year as a backer and I have much to learn but I love the position and feel I can be a great fit for it. I am playing for our junior varsity team due to Texas's UIL transfer eligibility rules (I came from Grand Oaks High School Previously). I feel their is lots of things I can always improve on as a Linebacker whenever its working on pass drops in certain coverages, reading my mains keys, to even being a leader to my peers. Though I feel that each game or week of practice I've gone through theirs been more, and more improvement developing said skills. I know I'm a naturally aggressive athlete, and extremely determined which benefits me towards reaching my goals that I set for myself. School wise, I'm a A, B average student, maintain a  3.6 unweighted GPA. I plan on graduating with a GPA (unweighted) ranging from a 3.6-3.75. I want to focus my studies in criminal law, where I would then hope to achieve to be an attorney though I would love to be a detective as well. I as a athlete, as a student, and as a young man understand there are multiple things I can work on myself. And I constantly strive to improve these things. (Other Notable Achievements: 1. THSPA Varsity Powerlifting at Grand Oaks High School (2020-2022)
