Personal Statement

I would like to pursue education in the healthcare field after high school and ideally, at an institution that will support both my educational pursuits and allow me to play basketball in a growth minded environment. I value authentic leadership that will enable me to develop to my maximum potential. 

The value I would contribute to a program includes a diligent work ethic, unselfish play in that I seek to maximize team performance over my own statistics. I can finish strong with either hand and I am patient under pressure. I am a versatile player in that I can and have played every position on the floor throughout my basketball tenure to date. I feel this has enabled me to grow an above average basketball IQ. Kindness and passion are two characteristics teammates will experience with me. 

After my freshman season I was awarded honorable mention all-conference honors. After my sophomore season I was awarded second-team all-conference honors and all-area honorable mention (Northeast WI). The transition of basketball from my freshman year to sophomore year was a significant step in my development in terms of switching from playing mostly wing as a freshman to leading my team sophomore year as point guard but also contributing in the post. After my junior season I was awarded unanimous first-team all-conference honors. I was also awarded Most Valuable Player on my team my sophomore and junior year.

Academically, I am very strong. I have an insatiable appetite to learn and grow as a person whether in the realm of sports, academics or life experience.
