Personal Statement

I believe in being a leader on my team, setting the example, always hustling on and off the field and giving 110%.  Effort, attitude, and teamwork are my top priorities.  I know that working on my skills and strengths in addition to team practices is one key to excelling at sports.  Practice what you know, repeat, get better – and getting better requires work!

I have always enjoyed athletic activities, such as working out and participating in sports.  While I am a multi-sport athlete, softball has struck me differently and has always been my number one.  Being left-handed is, I think, one of the greatest attributes I have for softball.   While I usually straight hit in games, I have a few tools in my back pocket ready to go at all times – like slapping and drag bunting.   My main position is center field, however, I used to play 1st base.  My coaches told me I should be using my speed to my advantage in the outfield.  Now, I enjoy running around in the grass robbing people of hits or throwing out runners at home.

I currently hold a 4.35 GPA and take school very seriously. I strive to put the student portion of “student athlete” first.  I am looking for a college where I can major in exercise science and hope to follow a career in fitness.  I am searching for a college that first, helps me meet my career goals, but also has a good softball program where I can be challenged and work with a team to compete.  I have always loved the game of softball and I can’t wait to see where it might take me in the future!
