Personal Statement

My name is Zavier Ildesa, Class of 2023. 

I'm a 6'2", 175 lbs. starting varsity point guard/shooting guard for Point Loma High School in San Diego, CA. (I transferred this to PLHS year. Last year I played for Steele Canyon High School).

I have a GPA of 3.0 and SAT score 1270. I've taken 3 AP classes and 2 honors classes. I'd also like to pursue a career as a Firefighter.

I played with CaliSelect during the 2022 Spring AAU season. (Here's my highlight video). I averaged 15 points, 2 steals, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds per game during the last tournament with a winning record of 3-1.

Here are my highlights from the summer AAU 2022 Vegas Big Time Tournament. 

This last summer, I also attended basketball camps at Point Loma Nazarene, UCSD and St. Katherine's. I am currently training 3 days/week with Coach Damien Elam from USD alongside training with my high school team. 

Last year, I was one of only a few juniors on a senior-loaded team. When I started, I averaged 10 points/game, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals/game. 2 of my standout games this year were against Mar Vista (20 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals) and Cathedral Catholic, ranked No. 5 in San Diego, during which I had 13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.

I pride myself on my effort as a well-rounded player. I can shoot and handle the ball, as well as pass and defend aggressively. I'm constantly working hard on my game.
